The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is a type of visa issued by the New Zealand government to employers who meet certain criteria. This visa is designed to facilitate the transfer of skilled employees from overseas to New Zealand. The visa allows employers to recruit and employ overseas nationals with the skills and qualifications needed to fill their labour shortages. The visa is valid for up to 3 years and is renewable.

The criteria for employers to qualify for the AEWV include:

• Having a successful track record in recruiting and employing skilled overseas workers
• Having a sound business plan that details how the business will benefit from employing overseas nationals
• Having a sound human resources plan in place
• Being able to demonstrate that no suitable New Zealanders are available for the roles
• Being able to demonstrate that the overseas nationals are being paid market wages
• Having the necessary support systems in place for the overseas nationals
• Being able to provide suitable accommodation and other support services for the overseas nationals.

Employers who meet these criteria can apply for the AEWV. Once approved, employers can then recruit and employ the overseas nationals they need to fill their labour shortages. The visa allows the overseas nationals to work in New Zealand for up to 3 years.
