Sub class 500 Australian visa

The Subclass 500 Australian visa is a student visa and is suitable for those who wish to travel to Australia as a student for an educational course. It is a temporary visa which enables students to:

•Study at an educational institution in Australia.

•Stay and study in Australia for the duration of the student's course.

•Travel in and out of Australia whilst the visa is valid.

•Work in Australia for a maximum of 20 hours per week during school term and full time during the holidays.

•Bring family members to Australia on a dependent visa.

To be eligible for a Subclass 500 visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

•Be accepted to study full time (Pre primary, primary or secondary school certificate/ diploma, undergraduate, post-graduate course or English language course) at an Australian educational institution.

•Be of good character and obtain an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

•Provide evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of their stay in Australia.

•Meet health and/or character requirements.

This visa is designed for students who wish to study in Australia for a length of time. It is renewable,and can be extended if required. The Subclass 500 visa is the most common visa to study in Australia.
