Letter of Intent

My name is [Name] and I am writing to express my intention to travel to [name of country] for the purpose of sightseeing. I am a [nationality] citizen and have lived in [name of home country] my entire life.   

I am a [occupation] and I intend to take a short holiday to [name of country], beginning on [date] and returning on [date]. I plan to spend my time sightseeing, exploring the culture, and visiting friends and family.   

I understand that it is my responsibility to demonstrate ties to my home country that will convince the authorities of my intention to return. I therefore wish to provide the following evidence of my home ties:   

• I have a full-time job in [name of home country] with [name of employer], which I have held for [number] years.   

• I own a house in [name of home country], which I intend to return to.   

• I have a number of close friends and family members who live in [name of home country].   

• I have a bank account in [name of home country] with a substantial amount of money in it.  

As evidence of my intent to return to my home country, I am enclosing copies of a bank statement showing [Amount of Money] in my savings account, along with several of my most recent paystubs. In addition, I am providing a copy of my passport and driver’s license.   

I am confident that the evidence provided above demonstrates my strong ties to [name of home country], and that I intend to return after a short and enjoyable holiday. I am looking forward to my visit and I am sure that I will enjoy it very much.
