Educational System in Lithuania

The education system in Lithuania is based on the European model, with a three-level system that includes primary, secondary, and tertiary education. Primary education is compulsory, and usually begins at age 7. It is typically divided into two stages, each lasting for three years. Secondary education is divided into two parts: general and vocational. The general education system lasts for four years, and the vocational system lasts for two to three years. After completing secondary education, students can apply to universities or other higher education institutions.

Tertiary education includes universities, colleges, and other higher education institutions. Most universities offer Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees, and some also offer specialized degrees such as law or medicine. There are a number of private universities and colleges in Lithuania, as well as a few international institutions.

In addition to the formal education system, Lithuania also offers a variety of informal learning opportunities, including adult education programs, language courses, and professional and technical training.
