Calculating your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is an important step in determining your eligibility for Canadian immigration. The CRS score is based on criteria such as age, language proficiency, work experience, and education. A higher CRS score increases your chances of being invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
To calculate your CRS score you will need to complete an online questionnaire. This questionnaire will ask for information regarding your age, language ability, work experience, and educational qualifications. Based on the information you provide, the questionnaire will generate a CRS score.
The CRS score is out of 1200 points and is divided into three categories: Core Human Capital Factors (maximum of 500 points), Accompanying Spouse or Common-Law Partner Factors (maximum of 40 points), and Skill Transferability Factors (maximum of 600 points).
The Core Human Capital Factors are based on your age, language ability, education, and work experience. The points you can receive in this category depend on your age, the language tests you have taken, and the number of years of work experience you have.
The Accompanying Spouse or Common-Law Partner Factors are based on the age and language ability of your spouse or common-law partner. If you do not have a spouse or common-law partner, you will not receive any points in this category.
The Skill Transferability Factors are based on your education, work experience, language ability, and having a qualified spouse or common-law partner. Points are awarded in this category for having a post-secondary degree, work experience in a skilled occupation, and language ability in either English or French.
Once you have completed the questionnaire, your CRS score will be calculated and displayed. If your CRS score is below the minimum required to be invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency, you may consider improving your CRS score by taking language tests, gaining more work experience, or improving your educational qualifications.
Calculating your CRS score is an important step in determining your eligibility for Canadian immigration. By understanding the criteria that are used to calculate your CRS score, you can take steps to improve your score and increase your chances of being invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
